Whats a tramson?

Come on Don, SeaCraft, Wellcraft, Chris*Craft, whatever... - a Stinger, you know - Miami Vice. I know all of you FL boys wanted one at some point

Kcriptos, I ain't an expert but I think Marine ply is the way to go. Cost, workability, and 30+ year reliability if done right. Do a search for transom repair and you'll find tons of info on materials and methods. Start with Strick's post at the top of this forum. It may even persuade you to sell your C*C Stinger If it looks like more than you want to take on call Hermco and show him your stinger Dude does wonders w/frp.

Whats a tramson?

In naval architecture, a transom is the surface that forms the stern of a vessel. Transoms may be flat or curved and they may be vertical, raked forward (known as retroussé), or raked aft. The bottom tip of the transom can be approximately on the waterline, in which case the stern of the vessel is referred to as a "transom stern", or the hull can continue so that the centreline is well above the waterline before terminating in a transom, in which case it is referred to as a "counter stern".

On smaller vessels where an outboard motor is the source of propulsion, the motor is usually mounted on the transom, and held in place either by clamps or metal bolts that go through the transom. In this arrangement, all the power of the motor is transmitted via the transom to the rest of the vessel's structure, making it a very important part of the vessel's construction.

Thanks McGilli for the advice, I'll start my search for the marine ply for my TRANSOM. Sorry for the misspelling, I'm from PR so I'm a lot better in Spanish, speak a little English tough.
