I've asked this question before and the responses I got were that you get a better ride out of the cc due to the positioning of the helm. I think you may be unhappy if you change to the cc version. The only thing I never really liked about my 23cc was the lack of room in the stern which is were most of the action occurs while fishing. BTW the Sceptre has more cock pit space then even the 25 seafari. I measured them both while talking to Bigshrimpin last night(no jokes capt Chuck!) and the Tusanmi has about 1.5 foot more cockpit space.
When you gonna finish that damn boat ![]() strick

Yup Funny stuff... Very true and real. Love that show, been in several offices like that.I love to have fun and work should be fun. Some of the stuff we see in the "professional World" still amazes me. Some of the A$$ Clown Managers out there that think they are real leaders.

What strick said. The Sceptre is a great riding boat, and you could square dance in the cockpit, but the CC will ride better due to helm position. However, you'd really need to get into some serious slop for an extended period of time before the ride characteristics of the 2 become evident.

Gonna jump in here for a second for two comments:
Tsunami/Sceptre vs CC - I'm sure the CC rides a little better due to helm location, but when you factor in all the benefits of a cabin and a well thought-out bimini - I think the Tsunami is a better option. Put a windlass on one and you'll never regret the Tsunami (Sceptre). Besides you get storage for rods and gear. A place for the family stuff for the beach... I am really happy with mine. However, a boat as mentioned below is not just a 23CC, it's truly a different story ... STRICK - I was out trying to cast net for bait (2) weeks ago and saw an amazing reno'd 23CC w/ a '75 Classic SC sticker on the hull. The guy lives on the canal I was stalking bunker in. We started talking and it's the guy who bought your 23'CC. He lives in Bayshore, Long Island. He loves the boat. I told him I recognized the boat from the one-of-a-kind seat/console and bracket. I also told him that he probably has one of the nicest reno's around - made by some crazy-meticulous veterinarian... All true statements... She looks great and the new owner said that "he's happier with this boat than w/ his 26 Regulator... " |

My Sceptre rebuild is 95% complete, anchor roller, windlass, builtin GPS/depthfinder, etc, I'll post some pic's. Have had several Sceptres and really enjoy them because of children and storage. My next project will be a CC. However its the hull and ride that counts. Also number of people onboard makes a difference.
