dave thats what i'm tring to avoid is buying props that don't work. was going try the 19'' sst off of my old 87 225 but it fits a little tight in the lower unit housing. i measured a new viper and it is about 1/16'' smaller. i read in the book where this new e-tec is suppost to turn 5800 at wot so i don't know if a 19'' prop can do that. may have to go with a 17' prop. i can get a new brp prop off of e-bay for $350 but no exchange. hopefully somebody has run this combo and can tell me

eggsuckindog you were right when you said they were stong, got the old prop to fit and spin freely. took the boat out for the first run today. wow every impress with the boat and the new e-tec. was able to get 47.5 mph on gps at 56 to 5700 rpm. the boat handled great almost felt like a bass boat riding on a pad. this was a light load,no tackle,24 gal of gas and me. still it felt a lot lighter than it looks

Thats why I say you need HP for these boats to feel light and handle correctly, it makes a difference
