Go bigger, 12x12 at least, and go with edge mounts if you can.
The bigger the tab the less of it you have to use. |

I put Bennetts 12X12's with a 3" drop fin on my 23 Tsunami.
They were recommended to me by the folks at Bennett. Actually,they told me that they would like to see 12 x 24's,but because of the steps in the hull,it isn't possible. **(But now I see No bones with 24" tabs,so maybe the Bennett guys were mistaken)** The 3" drop fin,adds considerable lift.My boat is an I/O,with a 350,so it's stern heavy. It performs perfectly with these 12x12 tabs.The boat hops up on plane instantly,and if I drop the tabs,I can stick the bow down,where it needs to be in snotty water. I would go with 12x12's with the drop fin.As mentioned,Bigger is better with tabs.You may not need them all the time,but when you do,the extra lift from bigger tabs is nice.

The drop fins are not the same as the sport tabs.Drop fins have a 3" drop edge on them,which is (I believe),a much deeper drop than the sport tabs.
Here's a couple pics of them on my Tsunami. ![]() ![]()

Hi Josh;
Your not the first one with this problem Bennett has a fix. You can go with Bennetts Small Actuators and a Small Spacer. That would drop the upper hinge down a lot. Call up Bennett and ask for Thomas he will explain it for you and give you the exact drop down length. Part # A1200S with a 1" spacer. FellowShip .
