Default Seafari 25 cabin floor hatch

A few months ago, Ken Kurek had asked me to provide shots of my Gramps' homemade hatch. It may be a little too late as he may already be finished his fishbox but this may also be of interest to Strick or Dave or Nuthinfancy.

It's about 11" deep by roughly 18" wide at bottom.

I was trying to explain to Ken, about the crack in our floor as he wanted to add a large custom fishbox door in his floor. You may want to beef up the floor at the edges more than we did although ours cracked in extreme conditions. Ours cracked over 25 years ago when the boat was on Lake Ontario(charter days). My Uncle went out to rescue some fishermen in overturned small boats in some huge swells(I was a kid when he told me but I think he said 30 footers...I don't know but I remember him saying the auto pump would kick in every time they crashed down). This is when the crack occured as well as another below on the hatch floor where it meets the hull(left of anchor). These repairs are now on my to do list as well as a good cleaning and painting. So little time.

Anyway, here are some shots
