I haven't mounted a hermco or 30" bracket, but what I found in mounting mine, is you wanted to get the bracket as far down in the water as possible, to get the max floatation at rest, then I had to mount the motor in the 2nd from the top hole to get the cavitation plate right. If this was a 30" motor, you would need 5" of height on the mounting plate to get the bottom of the motor to the same place, or have to move the bracket up. I am sure someone has worked that out, but I haven't seen a bracket yet that had that additional 5". BTW, the suzuki cover and design keeps that motor VERY dry, much drier than my efi ever was.
