Default Hatch recore

I have one more hatch to recore. I've set it aside for a winter project indoors when it's too cold to do anything else. Has anyone recored one using gitrot or anything similar. The underside was drilled with 3/8" holes into the wet balsa core 2-3" apart and has been sitting in a sunny, warm, very dry location for about a month. I need feedback from people that have used these products. The other hatches were redone with penske board core and they turned out good but, I would like an easier way.
