Default Re: What is a 1973 20' seacraft hull worth

I remember thinking before I owned a boat that I couldn't believe that people threw as much money into them as they did and that I could never see myself as one of those fools! Now look at me-two boats and still lurking around to take advantage of a good deal here and there. In retrospect, I probably overpaid for my 23, but I only bought it once I could afford it, which I think is the key to having a boat and actually enjoying it.
Let's face it-unless you earn a living with a boat-it's a luxury plain and simple and a luxury item is only going to be worth what someone is willing to pay for it, whether it's $1 and in need of total resto., or 40, 000 and the most amazing, comletely finished boat.
The accusing party in this post was in the boat ownership game and was selling a luxury item for whatever it was worth and clearly had seller's remorse. How can that be anyone else's fault. I know nothing of the situation in question and none of us is happy about someone's financial hardship, but selling boat is a seller's decision-the market dictated that.
Her comments should not make anyone defensive here because the long-standing members here know the generosity and good nature of this community and the mud-slinging that seems to be on every other board online is never here. It really seems so out of place when it happens.
