Is Custom Machine Shop still down there? I'm pretty sure at some point in time they did all of Sea Tows work.

Those guys are the bomb down there - on the parts - pistons come with rings - you need all upper rod bearings and should do both mains (30 ea) possibly 1 rod about 100 - I did not do the crank/rod bearings but their 30ea. Seals are minimal and the gasket set complete in like 170. Anything on Pro's site deduct like 20%. I did an oil pump and gear which sounds like you need that too - 195 pump 65 gear. You also need the CCMS reeds which are 120.

So yes that is a pretty good deal by the time you start adding up the parts

I would consider having those guys do it, I think they are very good in general and you do get the warrenty. They are very well thought of as a supporting vendor at Scream & Fly which is where I heard of them. Another bonus is you can go have a beer with Skip on any trips down - they are right there.

There is a dyno reed test being done over there at S & F, Chris;s reeds are 1 being done but Tony Brucato one of the premier HP fuel and electronics suppliers said he got more RPM over a longer period than with Boysens, another guy said he got 150/200 more RPM. Quite a few brands but seems everybody expects CCMS to be the top dog, quite interesting some of the comments on reeds. CCMS does all brands by the way - they are not steel like stock so they don't destroy a motor if they go through - mine idled much better (expected) but seemed much quieter as well? I have decided this is mandatory on a rebuild.

yes i did talk to him for about 20 minutes. he said that he cant touch that warranty of 1 year full warranty and another year of half and half. his warranty was 90 days. he told me that he will build it for about $1000 less. 4 hours away vs 45 minutes away is another factor.

You can believe him on his warrenty, when mine blew he did everything - I did give him 200 just because but that was 2 sleaves - 2 pistons - boring those 2- taking all the other rods to pro Marine and Magnafluxing and taking it apart and back together, I felt bad but he stood behind it.
His comment was you just can't trust somebody no to do something stupid that long - but warrenty is definately a value if its worth anything. I would ask some questions about part failures and the like to be sure what kicks it in but they sound pretty honest down there but that can change quick.

I will be out this weekend I think it will be nice and will post up some numbers as i will be able to WOT - the Stilletto appears to work really really well but I'll go over the differences in my post.
