I used it on my transom after the rebuild because of Capt. Chuck's high recommendation. At first I thought it was a bit expensive, he sells it more by the square footage you are covering than volume. It went way beyond the square footage I was expecting with four coats. It's actually very easy to apply when you get the hang of it after the first coat. Because I only painted the transom I did not polish the "orange peel" out of the surface, For my application it looks VERY good as it came out. It's all done with 3" rollers...a wet one to apply the paint and a dry one to smooth it out. Rest assured, Denny has done the research and if he's good with it......enough said. The one thing that you have to do is be able to measure in small quantities, actually was pretty easy after the first time.

Thanks for the info guys...I know Denny put several days and hours of labor into his bottom project with excellent results...and I know Tom sells a great product..
I just dont know if I have that kind of patience to get everything perfect plus the cost too..etc...but I will ponder it for a while. -Fred

Chuck..I will take you up on your offer. email me with your telephone number at fdheld@bellsouth.net. Hopefully you are available this week after 5:30 PM sometime.(yes I have to work).and can make it up. I am going to call Tom this week for paint prices etc. ..hopefully you can come up and can give me some tips on my hullside finish too..here is my problem.. I have two coats of Easypoxy on hullsides already but I noticed some streaking from roller..mainly in front bow area. Looks ok .(but its bugging me!!)..might sand again and apply third coat..or sand all off (dont really want to!!!)..and bite the bullet and go with Tom's product and three step process ![]() -Fred

Here is one option for the bottom paint...black with white boot stripe...Any suggestions and ideas etc. appreciated.
I was going to continue the bottom paint top line even from stern to bow to keep in line with bootstripe..instead of having to tape waterline on bow bottom-Fred ![]()

Matt...Thanks for your input!!!
I am going to just go with regular black bottom paint for now...might change though...debating costs and time...I want to get this thing in the water so I will not do the Seacraft bottom job at this point!!!! -Fred

That's the way I would go. It looks much better and, like you said, no waterline to tape off. Getting anxious?

Fred,
Tom can match virtually any color if you know brand and name of the color, so I'm sure he could match the Easypoxy topside color (Ocean Blue?). I told him I wanted something to match my Sunbrella top color of Aquamarine which I used for bootstripe and bottom; he has the formula to match all the Sunbrella colors. I took him a plug I had removed for an access hatch to see if he could match the gel coat, and he absolutely nailed it. The stripe between bootstripe and bottom is that paint, also used on sides of steps. I believe it's called Hattaras White, which is actually an off-white/Ivory color that doesn't show dirt as bad as pure white.
