It would not work because my motor has a 25in shaft leanth.

If I had a 30in shaft motor I can mount the bracket 5in higher, and clear the bottom of the transom. The Armstrong bracket is 3 1/2ft wide at its mounting point in the front.

If I mount the bracket 23in from the bottom of the transom, the lower sides of the bracket flotation part will protrude out the sides of my transom, which will cause drag.

What motor do you have? I'm going to guess that Bay Manufacturing in Ohio has a 5" shaft extension kit for you... check them out.
