Default hull ID on Potter Built

I am pretty new to this sight as a user, but I have searched in the past for usefull info about Sea Crafts. I bought a 1980 23' Sea Craft from my good friend a couple of years ago. VIN# SEC 30091080. He bought the boat in 2001 from a guy in Jupiter, Fl. All the paperwork, reg, title, ect.. shows same vin #. Here is the tricky part, the transom has been closed in previous to my buddy buying and the first 2 letters are ground away leaving what appears to be a Y or something of the sort for the 3rd letter and the F30091080 are all legible. How can I tell if this a true Potter Built Hull? They have a vessle sticker ID under the ingraved #s stating the same as the Title. Buy the way great boat. Have'nt had it in the ocean yet, but great in the river.
Thanks,
Steve

BTW Steve, you asked this QUESTION three years ago and was given the answer What have you been doing with the boat since then, still riding the rivers? Not trying to be a smart azz but here ya go again....enjoy

You give us SEC 30091080. I would guess your Hull ID to read "SECF30091080"

SEC = SeaCraft
Your next ground off letter should be "F" which equals = Superfish (a marketing tool) (Considering your hull to be the CC model?)(Different letter for the Savage, Sceptre or Seafari models)
3 = 23'
009 = Hull Number 9
10 = October
80 = 1980

Mr Potter left Seacraft around May 1980 but was on the board of directors for 'SIC' SeaCraft Industries Corp for approx 1 year after.

I would consider it a Potter Built SeaCraft

Post some pictures and Welcome to CSC again!!
