Also where would I find the Hin on this boat (1975) and max capacity plate?

On the CC, capacity plate should be on the console; on the Sceptre/Tsunami it would be at the helm. |

Thanks guys. The transom was redone (not very well) at some point and I did not notice the hin on the starboard side so it must have been removed. The seller does have the transferable regi, I have not seen it, but he showed me the hin number SECF3186M74D which he wrote on a piece of paper and gave to me. Can anyone help me understand the hin.
Is $1500 a fair price for this hull that probably needs a full rebuild? Ryan |

Example: SECR31670575 Also, your boat may have been built in 1974 and sold / titled in 1975.

The title and HIN # should be 12 digits.
digits on title, HIN #, Meaning 1-3, = SEC, = SeaCraft 4, = F, = Super Fish for the CC hull 5, = 3, = 23 footer 6-8,= Hull # that Year, = 102 is the 102 23 that year 9-10,= Month build, = 09 - September 11-12,= Year built, = 76 - 1976 There would be no M or D in the HIN thats a bogus SeaCraft HIN # I am not saying that is not a SeaCraft Hull But that is not a SeaCraft HIN # It could have a honest or possibly a dishonest past. I once bought a Stolen boat and I will never buy another boat that I can't varify it is what it says it is. FellowShip . Just for the Grins ![]() Official 23 SF Antique Classic SeaCraft Owner |

Thanks for your help everyone. I think my search is going to continue. Beside the strange HIN, it had had to many mods over the years and would be a poor candidate to start a rebuild on.

Sorry for the misinformation on the Sceptre capacity plates.
As far as the HIN goes, read this web page to understand them. Some do have a letter at the end denoting the month built so I would not necessarily call it bogus. |

Does anyone else have a HIN that is formatted like the one 4x4 Blazer mentioned? I am considering a purchase of a 1975 23' SF and the HIN is formatted like this: SECF3123M75I (I replaced the real numbers with "123").
Is this is genuine Potter? How can I find out? Thanks |
