Questions about 23 potter CC

...he showed me the hin number SECF3186M74D which he wrote on a piece of paper and gave to me. Can anyone help me understand the hin.

Not so sure about that HIN. I think it should be SECR for "SeaCraft" then 3 for "23 ft" then 3 digits for the production # (ie 167 of maybe 400 produced that year), then the next 2 digits are the month in which it was produced, the last 2 digits are the year produced. And also I'm not sure about the "D" on the end. Your reported HIN seems out of wack with the norm. My VIN is based on 1977. Maybe they were different in 1975, but I don't think so. You may want to check on your VIN??? Anybody else?

Also, your boat may have been built in 1974 and sold / titled in 1975.
