Hi John, I've had photobucket problems for about 3 weeks. Just yesterday it started working again. I use Firefox, too.
The only thing I've done differently was to unplug and disconnect my modem and computer from the wall and let them both reset themselves. Amazing what a hard reboot of XP can do. Good luck.
