NewBie (perhaps) 1988 20. CC
befor I purchase the boat, I have a major question. Seller informs me that the boat has a gas leak and the tank must be removed.
where is the tank? what is involved? estimated cost of removal Need as little as 35 gal as a replacement other than the gas leak is there any thing else to look for. I understand that all residual from the gas must be removed and perhaps it is a problem that cannot be fixed. |

new tank $400 if you shop well...not much to it...just pull up hatch, maybe replace the sub floor under the tank and fuel hoses...another hundred dollars or so. As for the rest of the boat, who knows...each one is different, likely transom rebuild as well.

Quote:
1988 is probably a Tracker-built model and I'm not sure if their tanks are foamed in. If there are vents built into the hull or gunnels, tank is probably not foamed in.
