Thats pretty sweet right there. Never really thought about making the rub rail as one with the boat.

Those are sweet looking rub rails. Too bad I don't have the patience when it comes to woodworking.

Actually, it's not a difficult as you would think. After you cut the profile that you're looking for, the hardest part would be making numerous small cuts on the underside of the rail that connects to the boat so you can make it bend enough for the curve of the bow. Also, the bow area is not one piece but a few smaller pieces, finally this is just the "base" for the rub rail...when i completed the rebuild, I actually went with a Rubber rub rail over the mahagony.

Or steam bend it---preferred way in most cases.
