Ahhhh Spring Break 2011. One of the few distractions from boating. Back to our focus.......The Destin trip is doable, Long Point, Ft. Desoto, Key Largo was great, But it seems that the Anclote Key trip keeps coming back to the top??? The island effect of getting away from it all seems like a good draw for members. Any thoughts???

The interest is really overwhelming I have talked to a couple members this week and I am getting good feedback. Summer / Fall is the most realistic at this point. But, a few mini gatherings are always welcome. C'mon people SeaCrafts, fishing, adult beverages, hanging out. Is there much more to do.............

That island off dunedin would be better than Anclote itself but you can still see it, so its not far - just the facilities and ramp are right there. It would not work in the deep summer I don't think, might be buggy, the eastern tip has plenty of room and is very open to air with trees overhanging so would work later in the year, we just haven't tried it. We went 2 weeks ago and it had multiple groups of people on it, so it is popular. Coming from the south it would be 10/15 miles shorter too.
Desoto with reservations would be a pain and Shell Is would require permits now but not bad - just have to watch the no beer thing but that can't be too bad either Not interested in Destin, although pretty, at a 9 hr drive I'll go the keys - just say'in Peanut Island is another option, trying to keep it kinda central in the middle for everybody - anything around Stuart?? closer for Ken and us.

I'll be in the Keys for a few weeks again this summer, so a gathering here is convienient. I'm not opposed to putting her on wheels for a couple of days either. I'll watch from the sidelines and see how this shapes up. The only thing I know about Florida is it takes a while to get to the Keys. Exploring might be interesting - as long as there are fish. |

I ran into a 1973 Red SeaCraft Seafari last weekend. It reminded me of the Classic SeaCraft gatherings and that I haven't been to one yet.
Then I realized I could start one....I have a white '73 20' Seafari. I will be sleeping out November 12 and staying thru the 13th in Lake Boca.. Veterans Day weekend, Who's with me? Paul hoffpaul@gmail.com

I think it was Wavelength that gave the input from his Coastguard days for our Gatherings to be central to I-4 around an hour north or south on either coast to get the best draw. I have waited 5 years to get a totally useable SC to bring to a gathering. I now have one once again.......finally
