I think it was Wavelength that gave the input from his Coastguard days for our Gatherings to be central to I-4 around an hour north or south on either coast to get the best draw. I have waited 5 years to get a totally useable SC to bring to a gathering. I now have one once again.......finally

I found an 18SF in Tallahassee and bought it Monday(nice way to find out if the tires and bearing are ok). It is identical to my other 18SF. I was looking for turn key and I found it, literally the Yamaha key switch is new along with a very clean Saltwater Series 130 Yamaha. 2 baitwells, older clean GPS, Fishfinder, and new VHF with new antennae. Nice alum trailer. Gas tank has been replaced. Deck needs a new nonskid, but no soft spots. I just did a shake down cruise today for 4 hours till 7:30 tonight and so far so good (caught a bonnethead shark near Briguys in Terra Ceia Bay). I almost went 3 days NOT owning a SeaCraft, what a nightmare!! .

Makes sense - just a point - the Dunedin site is easier for east coast guys to get to than Anclote due to I4 access even though Anclote is north no easy way to get there even for me, this would be due west of Tampa, Desoto adds another 30mi. Another nice aspect we found - its at the end of the channel to the bait shop - bathrooms - ice and fuel - like 5 minutes straight in and its WOT, so maybe less LOL.

Any east coast interest at all?? there or here?? boatpooling would make some sense too, if traveling, just bring 1 boat

I may be interested in going. I would be heading there from Stuart. I would love to get to meet all the Seacraft club before I sell my boat this summer...

Though I love the Seacraft I am working on a 27 Phoenix that will take its place for a while when it is put together.

I have never been to a gathering but I would love to go to one . I travel back and forth from palm beach to key largo . Peanut island would be cool. Scenery is usually good there on Sunday's .

I'm "here" right now, just bought that wonderful $4.19/gal non ethanol gas!!!! Can't be any flatter out there on the water, however the tarpon had lock jaw all day today!!!! Or, I just suck at this! Poop!!

Oh yeah, the Cuban restaurant out front of Caloosa (Habanos) does a nice job of "cooking your catch", much cheaper than Lazy Days.

Hi DonV

I have been going there for approx 25 years and loving every trip. That Cuban restraint does a pretty good job. I am surprised about the Poons they usually love to play between 4:00 and 7:00 PM each day. Sometimes you can get some live Mullet either from the bait shop or on the sandy beach in front of the pool. There are also some Poons in the marina at night to catch.

We lake the Mutton snapper fishing out off the ledge with live bait till approx 1030: AM then head off shore for either Pins or Tuna around the 409 Hump. Let me know how you fishing trip comes along.
