My 84 20 SF
Bought this about a year ago. Having fun with it for now. Big plans for in next winter . Has a small soft spot in the floor . Needs new bottom paint . May put a bracket and paint the whole thing while I'm at it . Gonna try to accumulate parts all summer then hit it hard next winter.

Re: My 84 20 SF
Nice looking boat! I have an '84 in the garage right now with the console off, all hatches off and rigging gone. Sanding starts next week. Any chance you could educate me on the through hull in the forward fish box? I can't decide what to do with it as it seems to be in a weird location. It says on the original paperwork that it is a fishbox with a drain, i just cant imagine opening that drain at sea or underway! Any comments or advice would be great! Maybe it can be used as a washdown pump through hull???

Re: My 84 20 SF
Thanks! I didn't know much about seacrafts before I bought this boat . For the money I paid I couldn't be happier. As for the drain in the fish box I have one going straight down out the bottom of the boat . If you leave it un plugged the box will fill up with water . But t he waterline is lower than the top of the deck so no need to worry about your boat sinking if you open it at sea. And if you open it while your running the water will drain out. Then you can plug in . This setup works fine if you trailer your boat after every use . Plug it before you put it in the water , ice it down , when you get back to the house drain and clean. The problem I have is when i leave the boat in the water for weeks at a time there's no way to clean and drain it at the dock. Which can get pretty nasty. I hope i could help. Let me know what you decide. I would love to see some pics of your project.

Nice Ride. You picked up one heck of a boat for not knowing much about SC's. Are you good with a roulette wheel too? You scored a great boat.

Re: My 84 20 SF
Thanks a lot for the info on the fish box, it makes sense what you are saying with the elevated box versus the water line. I spent much of the weekend sanding and still have a long long long way to. I will snap some pictures this week and get them up. Progress is slow, but certainly rewarding...
