Exterior grade, if you seal the wood well, will do for delamination purposes. If you need maximum strength to weight, marine ply is a better choice. Also exterior grade has much more tendency to warp. I had to buy 2 sheets of exterior for my last project, because much of the first warped before I could use it.

I was thinking about that pro grade cabnet 3/4 inch stuff they sell at Home depot. They claim it will not warp. I guess I should step up and get the marine grade !!!

any closed cell plywood will not warp. cabinet grade should be closed cell. that said, i would definitely pay the extra $30 for marine grade.

The plywood is probably the least of the project cost. The most expensive is your time. Everything else falls in between.

That said, "Pay me now or pay me a lot more later." Your choice.

Just my 2 cents. Take it for what it is worth.

Point well taken !!! I will step up and buy the Marine grade after all I only need 3 sheets. the rime while all ways at a premium is not really a worry to me. After all we have a closed season on Grouper. The Ajs are $600 dollars worth of gas off shore.
