I have a 350/315HP Marine Power and @ 3100 run around 26-27 MPH by my GPS and I run 34 (68 total) miles each way to some wrecks out of Rudee Inlet, VA. Beach and burn on a good day around 31-33 Gallons.

So I must have the slowest inboard ever made. In real world conditions with full tanks, ice, beer, fishing rods etc...I cruise in the 19-22 knot range at 3200-3400 depending on tide. I am swinging the recommended 16x17 wheel with a 1 to 1.51 trans and a newer MPI 350. What gives? Can my big T-Top slow me down that much? And no, the boat isn't water logged.

Good question - just remember some guys are posting in mph, not knots. Is that a double negative?

I usually have three people and all the gear, full tanks and cooler of ice. The motor will turn up to 4600 rpm, which it is supposed to do and turning aa 16 X 16 prop, had to have it changed a little to get the right top rpm's.
