Not in production, yet. MEG was also building a 120 hp model a few years ago, with a rated HP fuel burn of only 5.8 gph, (can you say 7-10 mpg?), but it weighed 535 lbs. 3 Prototypes were built on a 25" Mercury 2-stroke V6 mid-section and lower unit. I don't know what happened to them.
I know some ProLine execs put some $$ into the development, and were planning to keep investing, but ProLine is now in serious financial doo-doo, and 2/3 of their exec and admin staff is history.

I asked a friend today and he said MEG is also in serious financial trouble, and looking to sell the whole shebang to recover some of the money the investors have put in.
The projected price for the 300 hp model is $35,000. Projected life is 6,000 - 8,000 hours, or 4 times that of a gasoline outboard.

Tohatsu built diesel outboards in the 80s and 90s, not sure if they still do, most were commerical engines used on work barges in Japan, Ive heard some have over 20k hours on them and still running. My Dad tried to order one for his fishing pontoon back years ago but they wouldnt sell them in the US

Yanmar did, too. Yanmar built a 27 hp and a 36 hp version. But I think even the biggest Tohatsu diesel outboard was only 50 hp.

Sad to hear that about MEG. I did a sea trial with them, both dad and son were really great guys. Very much ahead of the curve technically... the one we tested had variable geometry on the turbo (not sure where exactly and they wouldn't let me take the cowling off). Basically it spooled up and popped on a plane like no other diesel I have ever ridden. It was very quiet as well.

I asked about biodiesel, prop size, and service. Heard good answers on all. Pros of an outboard (Boat won't sink if you knock the prop off, higher top end, longer effective hull length with bracket), with the fuel economy and shelf life of a diesel.

The 300 was would be a perfect fit for a 23 seac craft with bracket. Giant Tuna pocket battle wagon indeed.
