1978 is definately one of the Potter built years. Looks like a 20' CC (Master Angler model) an upgrade from the std CC model.
Thanks buddy hope it realy is

Once you get it, if you do, You'll have to read through this at least 3 times and take notes. I don't think I'll get any FLAK if I say this is the single best thread for a 20 foot recon!

Well I'm IN ! I pick up this clean 78 SeaCraft 20SF. The dude with the bare hull never returned my calls so lucky for me he didn't. My new to me 20SF has a 95' 150 Merc EFI XRi VHF and CD player with bimini top. Scored it for 5 and no soft spots on the floor. Have some plans for it but mainly i will just be enjoying it for now.

Some of the only pics I got right now. Will try to snap some more soon.

Could use some paint and other minor fixes/upgrades.

BTW: the HIN on this boat has SED as the first 3 letter is that a correct potter hull I.D. ? The actual HIN tag seems to have fallen of not really there, is that an issue ?

Congrates,

I have been following your thread .I actually took a look at this one it was in WPB. Needs a little cosmetics touches but all in all a SOLID boat.

You did good to stay away from the project in Big Pine. The Serial number was gone, the title was for a seacraft but there was no way of conecting the two. No serial # spooked me away.

A few weeks ago I purchased an 89 Seacraft ( Tracker) you probally saw it during your quest. Solid, paint good (just needs a buff). I plan on installing a 2-stoke 200 suzuki I had on my old Formula 233 CC.

Not a Potter-era HIN. A quick search comes up with Southeast Boat Distributors in Pensacola for SED. When you say the "HIN tag" has fallen off, what do you mean? Being a '78, the HIN should be molded into the upper right-hand corner of the transom.

Yes it does look like there is a HIN number there but it is very obscure not a complety clear number...... So being the first 3 letters are SED on my hin it says that its not a potter hull even though its a 78?????

Are the letters obscured and you're guessing at the "D", or are they clear and the rest is tough to make out? Post up the HIN as you read it and maybe we can help out.

When i checked today the nuber is hardley visable at all. I am getting the hin number from the title of the boat which is SEDF00220178. Not really sure what to make of this
