Tell him the motor will have rust on the bearings , but that he could part it out for 1500 easy and that you will repower. Tell him he can sell the trailer for 800. Tell him he can sell the radar for 500 and electronics for such n such. Give his perceived value back to him and get what you want it for. How is the transom? Any flex? Get a pro quote for the floor and transom if necessary. Add new tank and wiring. This sounds like emotion to me. Help him let go. Tell him all of your dreams and plans for it. Build the time, love, and money it will take to acheive your dream.
