boat - it looks like it's been hacked up - basically,it's a shell, meaning, you're gonna need one of everything...you're looking at a considerible expense, considerible,in just materials alone

granted, when all is done, you will know what was done, how it was done, and you did what you wanted...but,in this market, with the price of a ready to fish rig,you could purchase a ready to fish boat, for less than half of what you're gonna spend on getting that rig,in "fishable" condition...

food for thought ...

here's one listed on this site : http://www.classicseacraft.com/commu...ad.php?t=22502

$16,500 , asking price...

think about it like this,$16,500 - the boat has decent power, electronics.basically, you're looking at a ready to run product...

compare that to the project in miami - look at it realistically - electronics and a t-top is gonna run approx $7,000 - good t - top with a fiberglass hard top, electronics - radar, sonar, gps and a vhf - that's just that portion...add power, steering, guages, controls, fuel system, electrical system - remember, you're gona need everything as far as electrical system is concerned - how much are all these things gonna run ? notice,we haven't even mentioned the amount of glass and finsh work required - see where this is going ?

i'm not trying to "talk" anyone out of anything, but, going into something like this, you have to think with your head, and your check book....
Pelican,

I appreciate your opinion, but with all due respect I know full well what a project like this entails.

Here is a link to my last project and keep in mind I had NEVER EVER done anything like this before in my life.

http://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-...=Biddison+1800

I sold that boat this past summer. I boat and fish on the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. A 23' SC Center Console will fit my needs better. But I want to MAKE IT MY OWN. I want the blood, sweat, tears and fiberglass ITCH. My father was an amazing craftsman. It's in my blood. I want the pride of trailering my SC 23 around making other's jealous.

Not everyone is cut out for a project such as the one I want to undertake, but trust me when I tell you, I know FULL well what goes into it, from budget to time to budget. Did I say budget?

Thanks for your feedback, but I am a man on a mission! I fell in love with the heritage of Seacraft and just flat out love the lines of the vessel. If I can find a POTTER project then it will be that much more special.

No. I am still looking. Hard to find the right boat and people that have them think they are worth more than they really are.

If you can't buy a project for x dollars, you might have to pay a little more and just get started on it (cause a moderate project boat will take year minimum to finish). It's just a drop in the bucket of what it'll take to finish it. $15K will get you a 23cc that is already done. You will save money if you value your time above $5/hr.

I didn't have a lump of disposable cash, so I fixed mine as I went along. I got my 23 hull from CA 2 years ago. Cost me $3500 total for boat delivered to my door with trailer and it still needed a transom, fuel tank, console and other fiberglass work. Overall I still think it was a good deal for me. Fortunately I had practice on enough other project boats, so I could keep costs down low and I got some incredible freebies.

1. Love and fear your GOD.

2. Love and respect your mate and your children.

3. NEVER love anything that can't love you back!

4 There are two kinds of money, yours and all the rest! Yours comes FIRST!

5. If money will replace it or soap and water will wash it off; it's NOT important!

Just a few personal humble opinions!
