Now I like raw bft as much as the next guy but, "come on, man..."
I guess some folks aren't affected by the globally perceived economic doldrums:

I had gone out with my fathernlaw at the time early 80s and ive seen 1200 lbers but he never got that price per pound.

1st of the new year, always bid high, its a marketing/good luck thing in Japan for the top sushi joints to do so. the greenies will hold this article up for the next 12 months as they do every year and say look what GBFT goes- for ban fishing in the US for bft (where only 5% are caught in the world). its also a japanese island caught bft i think almost always. still wowza.
