help buying
ok well i moved from palm beach to saint pete had to sell my savage project and now i just found a sceptre dont know the year and it doesnt have a title the guy sell owns a boat restore company here and found it in a lot im getting the vins this week. he says the floor are great and from pics her sent the top cap and everything else looks good but old and it need a new transom it was a i/o so i make it closed with bracket if i get it. its missing wind sheld and is a project for sure. i was wondering how hard would it be it get a title and how much should i offer and whats the cost to get a title any help would help thanks guys.

I would not spend one minute more on it unless the guy will get a title first.

In NC, the shop owner where it's stored can file a mechanic's lein on it and after 30 days, he assumes ownership for nonpayment from the customer that left it. You have to pay for the paperwork and filing and, of course, whatever the seller requires. Don't know if they do that where you are, though.

When I bought the 27 Seamaster on Ebay 2 years ago for $305.00
There was no title... It had a Florida registration number which we tracked down to dead people!! There are companies that specialize in title work. It cost me $200 clams, but as it worked out I'm titled as the original owner from 1968 at the age of 14.... These services range from $200 to $400 just Google it... Good luck,

good to know. My 1956 14' Model F Alumacraft is a pain in the arse with the title. I will be asking you about details...........
