I need input for a baitwell pump
m building a baitwell so i dont have to use the old floor on e in my 20sf. im about ready to install and will need a pump. Id like waterflow while the boat is moving and pump off.
the pump isee online like this  they seem they thread into a seacock but wouod this bee to tall above the waterline and would that matter priming if there was even room in the rear bildge to have a bronze scoop thrihull with a seacock then the pump? has anyone done this on a 20 and how did you set it up ?

I raised my floor 2 inches but even with the standard floor height you should be able to use that pump. You can cut the threaded shaft if you need to. I can fill my bait tank easily at the dock just sitting there so priming is not a problem with those pumps. The pump in the picture below is a kodiak bait well pump and I have had three on three different boats and all have worked great.

Baitwell
I have used the older version's of that style pump. The pump is inexpensive and will supply an efficicient flow for a 28 gallon or so livewell. It will supply water to the well while your boat's underway and the pump is off. Install your new inlet near the bottom on the side to create circulation of your new tank and use an 1"1/8" outlet at your desired tank level with a screen. Use a quality thru-hull strainer and ball valve (use heat shrink on your electrical connections "this will be the weak link"and the first place to look when your baits go belly up.). I would also recommend hooking up a baitwell timer inline with your system to extend your battery life while your not underway.(try to remember to have your battery switch on only one battery at a time unless running your engine) this will help ensure your other battery will start your boat when it's time to go. The pump will be fine for most bait fish unless your planning on overloading the well. I could keep enough bait to fish as long as the action was hot. Most people will be happy with this system, however there is a crowd who need to take there system's to a whole nother level. They can be serious tournement guys, guides who fish for a living or someone who might want to chum with there baits. Their wells can be much larger and supply enough raw seawater and oxygenate hundreds of baits.

I went with one of these in my 23, it has a second port for a wash down. You would rather have too much flow then not enough. You can always turn the ball valve to slow it down some.

My contender is setup the same as Stricks for the infloor livewell.
Simple and works.
