painted on reg. numbers
Finally got my baby yesterday & I'm in the process of registering the boat. How should I go about removing the existing painted on registration letters/numbers without compromising the gelcoat/finish & creating additional & unnecessary work?

If they are painted, use "Easy Off" oven cleaner, and gently scrape.
If they are vinyl stickers, use a heat gun, and gently scrape. Good luck Lloyd

I'll have to get my nephew to help with the pics. Not very good with modern technology !

The EZ-Off works great. I removed a painted-on name in about 10 minutes.

Or do what I did and asked if I could use the same numbers and letters and just changed the state
