impact was about 1' above water line, the hull flexing caused the vent patch to pop out. Its like when you squeeze one side of the Tupperware and the opposite side top pops off.

Delamination of about 6" of the hull to side tabbing. Delamination of the top hull side stiffener. Delamination of about top 5" of fiberglass box frame.
No surprise the hull vent patch came out, it was not even glassed on the inside and just some matt on the front. The was work already done when I bought the hull. Would have been OK if not for this impact. there is also some cracking of the fairing compound between the tow hull side stiffeners, but it does not appear to be very bad. My plan is to fix the delamination now, return the stiffness, then use the boat until winter when I can cosmetically make it look new again. Unfortunately, I am going to eventually need to re-paint the whole port side on the out side and a few section on the inside. :x damage pictures.... ![]() ![]() ![]() yesterday I ground out the delmainated glass, and then back up the stiffener and the frame so the new glass will have plenty of overlap to bite ![]()

Forgot to update the vent hole fix..... Copied from my other thread.....
So now that I cant use the boat for while (motor was stolen :x ) its good time to get the jet ski damage fixed. I might sell the boat, but in any case I need to fix this now. Beveled back the hole, filled with some epoxy putty before layering in a few layers of 6 oz cloth. Sand the cloth, add first pass of quick fair ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() epoxy is here http://boatbuildercentral.com/produc...1#.UGs2blKBXTo cloth is here http://boatbuildercentral.com/produc...1#.UGs2blKBXTo quickfair is here http://boatbuildercentral.com/produc...1#.UGs2iVKBXTo

Quickfair sanded.
![]() some epoxy high build primer ![]() More epoxy high build primer ![]() ![]() It looks very fair, will not need a second pass of fairing. I got 4 coats of the primer on, so we have plenty to sand. The System Three High Build Primer takes a few days to dry. You have to let it cure before painting over it. Will sand and try to paint on Monday. Im going to try to paint just the two spots and blend it into the rest of the hull, might be able to avoid repainting the whole side.
