Default 5' of birdsnest inside vent, where does it go?

Hey I'm new n don't kno if this has happened before, but I have pulled 5' of birds nest..... 3 nests, 4 eggs, from the forward stbd vent hole in my '73 23' tsunami project ....... I'm feeling the hull bottom now but can still feel straw, does this vent hole go thru to the bilge? I want to hose the remainder out but not if there's open foam down there.....Thx drew

I wouldn't worry too much about the foam. It is really good closed cell stuff. At least on my 74 20' it is. The rod holders and outrigger mounts on mine drained directly onto foam which slopped towards the bilge and it was dry as dry. I say drained because I took all the dry foam out, but it will be replaced with even more under deck!

That "passage" should be open and not foamed in. It was designed to flow air.
