I dont see any structural glass in that repair....looks like a chopped strand matt only

The original damage is substantial. Did it go up on the rocks or something?

That repair was there when I bought the boat. I have never had anythnig repaired in that area.

Very repairable . . . but good grief whoever did that fiberglass work should be shot . . . That almost cost you a 45mile swim to shore.
