Steiger boats are an old company based in NY. It's an original design. Not a SeaCraft copy.

The hull is remarkably similar but only on their deep-V model. I think their big 26' has the variable deadrise hull design (after doing a little research) All others appear to have chines/lifting strakes.
I didn't know if there may have been a partnership or something back in 1972. Interesting, thanks for the info. They look very nice.
Splash/Copy is such a harsh word, I could see the designer could have been looking at other hulls which he chose to borrow/incorporate a few ideas from. No agenda, just honest curiosity.
