never ran into any problems, with the original height of the deck...
when chunking/jigging tuna - we usually, drop the anchor and chase the fish - the guy on the helm can see the angler, and see what the fish is doing - the fsh actually "pulls" the boat...

Do you have rods made with the guides underneath? Its an honest question, I have seen that before in pictures (from guys up north) and wondered.
I have never had on a fish big enough to pull this boat, but Im going to give swording a try next summer so hopefully that will change

fighting from the bow, versus "backing down": the boat moves easier and it's more manuverable from the bow, versus the stern - the guy on the helm watches the guy fighting the fish and can quickly react i've ran big sportfishermen, and owned a 31 bertram for a number of years - i can honestly state,a center console with a clean bow area is much easier to fight a large fish from, versus a bigger sportfishermen plus - it's a little "girly" to "back down",when you can charge forward...

Never mind the fact its much easier to loose a fish when you 'back down' on it!
