Default Trade my 23' for a 18'

Listing fee paid via PayPal (Transaction # 6AT893224H6235912)

I've got a 23' SeaCraft (1978 Potter Hull) and and I am exploring/interested in trading down to a 18 CC. Currentlly I have a 23' Sceptre "project" that I'm planning on converting to a "Savage" or more likely now to a "CC". This boat had some damage done to it in Hurricane "Katrina" A good portion the damage has now been repaired. I have extensive photo documentation of the repairs done, with both before and after pictures available. I may continue this project to completion, but I am also considering trading it for a further along 18' CC project or completed 18'. I'm open to comments, suggestions, or trades.

This is a GREAT opportunity for someone to move up significantly in boat size if you are willing to put in the "sweat equity"

One to the major considerations in the potential change of direction, is that I have a very good condition and excellent running 23' now and really don't need two. A smaller 18' SeaCraft CC would probably serve my needs better.

The Good:

Exterior of the hull is in good condition, no barnicles or rash, never bottom painted, clean and straight

Many repairs have already been done.

All pieces and parts are there and accountable.

Includes a large, good condition center console (with a pristine condition original plexiglass windshield) from a later model SeaCraft (See picture below) Although alot of the accessory items have been removed. The windshield is not shown in the picture because it is being stored in my attic to protect it's perfect condition

Options are limitless, as you are starting with a fresh canvass to work on

Centrally located on east coast US -- Columbia, SC. (Center of State)

Reasonable distance transportation MAY be available on my trailer --- for the right deal.

The Bad:

Front cap and interliner have been removed to gain access to the bow of the boat for high quality repair. The two pieces will come with the boat if desired, although if converted to a Center console format they will not be necessary. Ask me why, I have a comprehensive plan.

The floor has some soft spots and probably needs to be replaced.

Windshield/top have been removed.

The unknown:

Not sure of the condition of the transom. It is NOT original, and has been redone sometime in the past with scuppers draining thru the back not straight down which is a plus.

Fuel tank is present and is original, condition is unknown.

Let my know your thoughts....Open to offers

Tight Lines,

Jim

Jim-Not a bad plan with the trade idea! I just completed a trade with my 18SF to a 23 Sceptre. Katrina has alot of history with Ken getting her and the damage that you have repaired. Based on her condition, I would venture to say that it would be tough to get a trade done because of the state of your boat. It can be done, though......

It took me about 9 months to find someone to make my trade. I spoke to ScottM's dad who did make a trade up north and also trade with Bigpine's Savage in the Keys. It ended up that Robert Elmore wanted to downsize and I knew what I wanted and we hit it perfectly.

I'm thinking that a raw hull like that is worth between your cost for repair and labor and say $1200, separate of that nice trailer. The 23 Sceptre hull in Sarasota that EggSuckinDog was interested in was going for $1800 or so. Get the 20 in Maine and then sell the 23 outright! It's just driving there and back! Good luck. The 18SF is a sweet "pocket" offshore center console.

I currently have a 1978 Master Angler project that I havent started on. Im realizing it may be too small as a family pleasure boat. (I refuse to get a pontoon). Let me know if you are interested in a 20. If you are still on Columbia SC, we are only 2 hrs apart.
