Anyone ever attend the Columbus Day Regatta at Elliot Key? I was just thinking of a St. Patrick's Day Regatta over here at Egmont Key with all of Tampa Bay down to Sarasota anchoring out for the weekend of races and parties. I'm thinking about the size of their event!

April = wind, it can blow pretty hard for weeks. I think this past April there was only one weekend I could get out, and that was out of Ft. Pierce which is a heck of a lot easier.
I will be there whatever week you have it, Im just 15 miles sound. If you can get out, the fishing is good (dolphin/cobia), and its better in May when the bait really shows up.
