I don't know of a way to do it with the tank installed - seems like the ethanol is doing a pretty good job. You might just have to keep swaping filters till it cleans up, shouldn't be that long. If you stay on it you should be able to dump the filter rather than switch them each time - not sure if you have one the motor but check that one too

I was lucky I didn't have any issues when I switched but my tank had been swapped out

I have a Merc Black Max and I can trim it up all the way with no issues
