The av plate is 2" on my 18'. If there is 27.5" from the top of your transom to the keel and you mount a 25" shaft motor on that transom, your av plate would be 2.5" above the keel.
I just went out and measured the distance between the av plate and the top of the mounting bracket that would sit on the transom and actually have 26". This is an older Johnson. Maybe the new Etec's are the same. If thats the case, you could end up with the av plate set 1.5" above the keel...
