The wood block was rotten on one side of my boat. I was able to fill the hole and surrounding space where the rotted wood was by plugging hole from bottom with a PVC plug, filling it with thickened epoxy and then redrilling the hole. I was able to make my own flaring tool using a threaded rod, nuts, washers and a 1/2" drive socket that had just the right flare on it!
