It's a 302.

We just got back. Wow thus thing rides nice. There was decent chop today and it slices right through it. No slamming. It was even pretty dry.

I did have a couple of issues. It wouldn't pass 3000rpm. At half throttle it reaches 2800-3000 rpm and cruises at about 30mph. If I give it full throttle rpms stay the same but the motor sounds strained. It also shut off a few times when idling in the channel. I had the carb rebuilt but I think it still needs work.

Overall I'm very happy.

Nice classic you got there congratulations! I just recently removed three layers of bottom paint from my 20 SF. You really only have a couple of options sand it off by hand or blast it off. I tried to restore the gelcoat on mine and did get it to shine but it had pin holes everywhere. I've decided to paint it with epoxy trailer boat paint new gelcoat would be nice but very pricey. Good luck!!
