Thats the way I mounted the Bennets on mine. Trim response is immediate and doesn't take much. Come over and have a look.

They want the tab 1/2" above parallel so there's no chance of burying the bow when they are all the way up. Even with 1/2" up you should still have plenty of travel. I can't see where it would hurt to have them parallel though.

If the boat is tail heavy, mount them parallel. If it's not, mount them with the trailing edge 1/2" above parallel as the instructions say.
