Now I am curious..If all updates and corrections have been made ...are they still crappy motors???
Heard of people saying they have done "updates"...not sure what that means...

Had a friend who bought a boat with one on it brand new and on the first trip off Hatteras, it died on him. (less than 20 hours on it)

Thanks for all of the replies, went and looked at the boat today. The engines are indeed fichts but they are the defender series? Dont know if this guy just put the stickers on the cowling or if they are some type of military use engine? Anyone know any more about these? Thanks

Get the motor serial #'s - the call an Evinrude dealer. The dealer will be able too look up the #'s and tell you EXACTLY what the enginesd are.

The OMC 150 and 175's were troublesome motors till 2002 +
