Wow, I need to expand my C.L. search out a little further, Cant believe you got this one!!! Priced right too!!! Still waiting for one to pop up near me so I can pounce myself. 25's are hard to come by, especially at that price. Congratulations on the score!

Big,
Congrats on a great find, and now I get to watch another restoration, without having to do any work.I'm looking forward to the coming progress. You said you were a liar, but we all know that's not true, you just have the disease.I've said all the time that I'd never ever do another restore, but let's face it who am I or any of us kidding. We're like drug addicts, just a hair away from the next high, only ours leads to a much ending. Good luck with the project.

NB - Gotta go back in a week or two to get the Float on Trailer. It's an old pre 1980 float on with the rectangular torsion axels and non standard bearing sizes. I was gonna disassemble it and toss it in the cockpit, but it was way way too big to fit nicely (and there were some wasps in the boat). Pulled a hub off with bearings to get the right ones. Previous owner was super nice to let me keep the old trailer there for another week or 2 until I get everything worked out.

Thanks Denny . . . Roger on the tabs. I love Dave's seating arrangement too GFSM . . . I can't wait to see pics of your race boat flying at the next gathering. cdavisdb - Sign me up for the trip . . . just give me a year or 2 to get her in tip top shape. I found a couple of blisters on the bottom and a few on the cap, but overall the gelcoat is in fantastic shape for 1972. BigE - It's a borderline hoarding problem now ![]() FF - Thanks! I can't wait to hear how the race boats run and compare to the 25. Last edited by Bigshrimpin; 05-06-2013 at 11:08 AM. |

Chucky . . . engine looks decent (missing some hoses and a few little things). It has a TRS Gimbal Housing which is MINT. The boat didn't come with a drive, but I have a friend that has a TR outdrive for sale with a prop off a 23 (that had a 350), so I might pick that up if price is right.

Jeeez "Big", I thought you would at least feel a little bit bad, or maybe a teeny bit guilty about your find, however I see nothing to indicate that!!!

Funny you mention it . . . I actually tried to give the owner some money, but he wouldn't take it. This was his brothers boat who had passed away a while back. The owner was thrilled that I knew the make and model of the boat and that I was gonna "restore it and use it". He said "just call me when you are done and give me a ride". Sorry if I sound like I am gloating about the free part . . . not trying to rub it in . . . just celebrating about the condition (which was a total surprise). The more I dug yesterday . . . the more I smiled. Took 2.5hours and 3 dump runs to get the junk and leaves out of the cockpit.

Tim,
Very nice find. I'm looking forward to progress pics. I can feel your excitement from here. ![]() If you're interested, I still have the two piece mold for the trim plane extensions. They'll only fit if you move the tabs out to the outer panel, but, man, are they responsive. I can keep the boat level in a sharp turn if I enter some opposite tab as I turn the wheel, and I can hold the wheel straight and turn the boat with just the tabs. It's very weird leaning to the outside in a turn. ![]() Dave
