I'd say anywhere from $150 to $450 depending on condition/type of rod and condition of 14/0.
Also, unless you can verify the line on the reel is properly sized # class, length, spliced, etc... you will want to replace. Which will play into the cost of getting the setup ready to fish for Giants (Im guessing you want to use it for Bluefin Tuna?) |

I'm not sure I want to use them at all, but for the price they maybe able to be traded down for some 50s.

Mint with box, manual, gear lube, sunflower wrench, and pouch. 4-6 for the reel to a collector.
The gearing is low n slow. They weigh a bloody ton, and the asbestos drags are known to lock up. Scuff the drag washers and lube with cow grease or do what I did and switch to ht 100. Save the original drag. I only use it when someone needs to learn a little humility. Make sure your cap is not rotted. Really a shark reel. Click click click. Now if you find an ole 16/0 or the really rare 17/0, now you have some coin. The old 80`s and 130`s are what you really want for GBFT. Cheers, GFS |
