You gotta have a fat wallet too. The price of of new center consoles or any other boat is outrageous. I don't see how anyone can afford a new one. I believe a man cant put a price tag on his toys, but if your CC costs more than your house something is wrong.

I don't even go over to gawk at the. Yachts any more but did come up with a few new ideas and seeing some of the new boats tying the leaning post in with the t-top was something I had thought about but really hadn't seen too much of before. Think it was hydra sports placed there outriggers off the leaning post leg a interesting location rather than up further this would allow the arm used to rotate it to turn inward 180 degrees from the outriggers. on my 20 sf I was able to put horizon all rod holders under the"eves" and hold 2 rods on ea. side . Turning the handle in would let me do that again

Chalk me up as another that's living wrong.I spend a fair amount of time perusing new boats for sale on publications and checking out the local dealers and shows.(just for something to do).
I can't believe the prices of the new boats, and can't believe that someone would lay out that kind of money for one. I saw a 19' Whaler outrage with a 150 outboard for $45,000 and a 25 outrage with twin 225 verados for $118,000. Ok,i know Verados aren't cheap but close to 120 grand for a 25' boat?,,and, these prices don't include goodies like radar, autopilot etc.hell,in western NY on the great lakes, I can buy a summer cottage almost on the water for not much more than that.Years later the cottage will be worth more and the boat less. Who said it would cost less to buy a new boat than to restore an old SeaCraft? hell I have less than 20 grand in my Tsunami, and it's.Basically new.Sure there are a few spots that need fixin, but nothing that a new boat won't have a few years down the road. I've come to the conclusion that only two kinds of people buy new boats,**those with a lot of discretionary income,-and *those who don't have the cash to buy a used boat from a private seller because they can't finance it. So,they just sign on the dotted line, and pay monthly for year after year on something that keeps depreciating until it's not worth much.

I agree with you guys. I used to be excited to go to the FT laud and miami shows. Nowadays I really could care less. Everything is so expensive i dont think id buy most of the boats there even if I could afford them. And lets be honest nothing in the 19-23 class is better then our beloved OLD Seacrafts.
