Be sure you have the motor set high enough and your not dragging the foil - if its the correct height it will plane at lower speeds as well - with an Alum prop prolly 1" above the hull bottom at the cav plate

I don't know of anyone planing at below 10 knots? At least when i trim right. I think I am doing well? At 80% trim up, I blow out and hit between 5900 and redline. At 50% trim, I hit 5800 RPM. At 20% (80% down), I am at 5700, so I think I am pretty good. Redline is 6000. It looks like I am at 9-10.5% slip at WOT slogging the hydroshield thru the water. 28.0 knots on a 13.25 x 15P 4 blade. Assuming it is 15" pitch on the nose... I never got to try pulling the hydroshield. Maybe later this year. |
