Pulled some strings and landed a few spots in the big water so if the weather cooperates we should have fish to fry!

I guess the 25 Seafari qualifies as an RV? We were pretty dry. Except when we ran across the Intracoastal for lunch. Didn't see any other RVs following us, though.

My Bro-in-law was down to Cayo Costa over Labor Day and he said Lee County was Helo-Spraying the islands for Skeeters. They had a few No-see-em's at dusk and dawn but never a mosquito bite all weekend. Weird - mosquito's love my blood and I quit going down there after it starts raining in June. If we get one cool front by then it might break both the Stone Crabs and Trout loose.

So a number of CSCer's have been PM'in me about stuff like "which wreck in 240' has the biggest Warsaw's?" and "where are the red's tail'in in November?" to "which bar has the most big screens for the games on Saturday? and "I got to take the 'ol lady shopp'in or I can't go next year".
Since you guys is used to navigat'in through the perils of life and I ain't no fish'in Guide, Chicken Wing Connoisseur, or Marriage Councilor anyway, I just thought I'd give you a couple of "way points" to steer to - 1) Boat'in - You is in the epi-center of Florida West Coast Intra-coastal navigat'in. !0 miles north across Boca Grande Pass is Gasparilla Island - favorite retreat of the fishing POTUS and other celebs. To the south, Upper Captiva, Captiva Island, Sanabel Island and Fort Myers Beach. To the east Bookelia, Matlache' and St.James on pine Island and Punta Gorda, on up the mouth of the Peace River. Well marked intra-coastal channels, if the wind is blowing - if not, 40 miles of blinding white beaches with coconut and cabbage palm stands and snook running in the tidal pools. 2) Fishin' - Gag Grouper closes on December 1, troll 'em up in the channel, at the bend with spoons or bomber rigs. If the water is clear the big guys on the ledges inn 40' hit first. As the days shorten and the water cools down big fish move up near the Pass to fatten up for the winter. Very little pressure on offshore species down there except for Trader Ter and a few others. If the water cools down trout fishing is spectacular within sight of the water tower on Cabbage Key. Follow Conner to the secret oyster bank for big reds tailing south of the stilt houses. Cabbage key will cook your catch and Kmoose is planning to put a Dusty Rhodes "strangler hold" on a couple groupers for the cookout at Cayo Costa on Saturday night. 3) Somebody stepped on my fingers, on the way home partyin' - Apple Mosquito Elixir rations are to be administered by Dr. Donny. We is try'in to tamp down the chance of Dengue Fever by beefing up in extra inoculations in this area and Dr. Donny is in charge. Between Cabbage Key, Tarpon Lodge, Barnacle Phil's, The Laughs-a-lot, Matlache' Rod and Gun club, Casa de la Kmoose and Casa de la Costa you should be able to decipher Sandy's zaniest comments with perfect clarity and picnic tables are now your new best friends. Saddle up pilgrim! Circle back if you need any more Local Insight, but don't forget to lean on Ter #1 (IslandTrader), Conner (Cdavisdb), Richard (76red18) and "Stitch'in Mike" (Mikem8560) because those guys are like "Fun Think Tanks" on stuff down there. |

'Matlache' Rod and Gun club".......Really? I wonder if they are associated with the Showmen's Association of "carnies" here in Gibsonton, after all nothing like seeing the lobster man, midget man or hairy fat woman at the local Gib'town Wal-Mart!!
Back to important stuff.....I wonder if "apple pie" will also work on the Ebola virus like the Dengue fever? I've noticed most of the Americans that get the Ebola virus are there helping out from different religious organizations and I'm betting they don't drink. So I'm willing to help with a cure! If nothing else they will have more fun in Africa drinking copious amounts of apple pie! ![]() |

Well, I started working out the logistics for the CC gathering now that we are closing in on a this trip that myself and the Puerto Rican Princess are really looking forward to. We have reserved the Heritage House for a full 7 days to include the gathering as well a a couple of days before and after to know what it feels like to live every day like Island Trader if only for a week.
