Is a 225 yamaha 2 stroker too much on 20ft?

i have a 3.0 225 efi merc short shaft on my 1973 20 sf. It still self bails full of fuel sitting at the dock. As well, very minimal amount of water around the deck drain with me standing on one of the aft hatches. And you'll win a lot of races!
