Default 1976 Savage - total custom restoration

Somewhat quick story...

Bought and moored up in Morehead City by Dr. Watson for a good part of the 70s and 80s. He is the father of Dr. Watson that has 64' Winter "Anita Jean." Might have had a second owner but im not sure. My Dad bought it in 1994, had it sit around for a while, and then proceeded with tearing out the old drive train, tanks, etc. It was brought to a few places to have some work done. Ended up that everything that was done was done very very wrong. The more I looked, the more I found wrong.

2011 I got the boat for college graduation and started picking away at it. A few months ago I came up with a plan to do a custom restoration and make it an express boat. I am on a tight budget but we will not be cutting corners, it will just take a little longer.

I am in the marine trade and mostly work with mechanical and electrical systems, so I've got that covered. I have a guy that works with me doing a lot of the wood work and will have Brett Parrott and Raybo Marine in NC help too.

Would you rather see pics on photobucket or attachments on the forum?

First boat pics are from 08 when we did the transom. Outline drawing is the overall look we are going for. Recent work includes 2nd engine bed stringer, deck joists, and a few bulkheads.

Forgot to mention...new saddle tanks. Power is new 4lha Yanmar with new ZF63. Looking to get ZF63A if anyone has one. I already made a custom dry riser before this new rendition, I'm hoping it will work for this layout. If not, I will make a few cuts and re weld. The hard part (water mixer and machined v-band flange) will work no matter what.

I like your "express" design.
